National Skill Training Institute(NSTI), Dehradun was setup in the year 1982 by Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET) under Ministry of Labour, Government of India. This has been possible because of the vision and concerted efforts of the Directors, faculties, staff and trainees of the institute, who have contributed untiringly to the major activities of the institute namely, Long Term (One Year duration) vocational (ITI) instructor training programme under CITS, Short Term Training for upgrading the skills of engineers, supervisors, technicians, industrial worker and faculties of technical institutions in designated and tailor made (need based) various technologies and discipline.
