October 1st is observed every year as the International Day of Older Persons. Being the nodal Ministry for the welfare of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has been celebrating the occasion every year by organising a series of programmes and felicitating the distinguished senior citizens with Vayoshrestha Samman.
